June National Safety Month

June is an important month for safety, as it is National Safety Month according to the National Safety Council. At DHT/SEB, we take safety very seriously and it is our top priority. We are always striving to improve our safety measures to ensure our employees are protected. Here are some of the ways we keep our employees safe during this important month and beyond.

Eye Protection: It is important to prioritize eye safety and minimize the risk of injuries in the workplace. At SEB, we take safety seriously and require all employees working on the manufacturing floor to wear the appropriate eye protection. By taking this simple yet effective measure, we can ensure the well-being of our team members and avoid any preventable accidents.

Gloves: At SEB, it's crucial that we prioritize the safety of our employees, which is why we take skin protection very seriously. To ensure that everyone is protected, we require gloves for any hands-on activity on the manufacturing floor, regardless of the task at hand.

Open Communication: SEB takes the safety of our employees very seriously. We believe that open communication is key to improving our safety policies, and we constantly seek feedback from our workers to ensure that our policies and procedures provide the protection they need to complete their work safely and effectively. Our goal is to create a safe and secure workplace for everyone, and we're committed to continuous improvement to make that happen.

The 5S Methodology: It's important to maintain a clean and organized work environment, and our team has implemented the 5S Methodology to help us achieve this goal. Every day, we set aside the last 15 minutes of the day for 5S time, during which we follow up on the cleaning of our individual booths and common areas. We also update our 5S cleaning chart daily, and make sure that all racks and materials are presented in an organized manner. It's important that each team member takes responsibility for cleaning up after themselves in all common areas to keep our workspace safe and efficient.

Testing Procedures: When conducting tests on electric boilers at Sussman, it is important to prioritize safety and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents. This includes maintaining specific distances from the boilers during testing and ensuring proper fitting precautions are taken to keep the boilers in place. By following these safety measures, we can protect our employees and avoid any potential injuries or accidents.
